BTCC TradFi Sees Record Volumes in Gold and Oil Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty
BTCC, the world's longest-running cryptocurrency exchange, reported unprecedented trading activity in commodity-linked tokens as investors flocked to safe-haven assets. On March 6, 2026, gold-related trading pairs including PAXGUSDT and XAUUSD surged past $60 million in daily volume, while oil contracts reached $33.19 million.
The spike coincides with escalating Middle East tensions that have rattled traditional markets. XAU pairs alone accounted for $34.89 million of the gold volume, demonstrating particular strength in crypto-based gold derivatives.
Since its February 2026 launch, BTCC's TradFi platform has gained traction among traders bridging crypto and traditional markets. The exchange recently introduced zero-fee trading for precious metals pairs and volume-based gold rewards to capitalize on the risk-off sentiment.
